PRICE LIST FOR TUMBLE POLISHED STONES: JANUARY 2008 - JUNE 2008

All tumblestones are sold by weight with most stones starting at about 1 gram. Most of the stones held in stock are anything from 3 to 10 grams in weight although a few are larger or smaller. Please ask for availability of outsized stones. The list below details the cost by weight for each type of pre-polished stone...

CUSTOM STONE PROCESSING AND POLISHING
I will also work stone upon demand for customers. This could be any of the following: cutting, grinding, polishing, drilling, shaping...

  • My charge for this service is £9.60 per hour.
For example, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm holes take about 5-10 minutes to drill so the cost would be 80p to £1.60 per hole. (Note: The time needed to drill a hole varies according to the depth of hole needed and the hardness of the material, in some cases holes may take 15 minutes or more to drill.)

The cost of shaping and polishing stone(s) from scratch varies depending on size/weight and hardness of stone. An estimate cost for shaping and polishing single stones would be...

  • Up to 5 grams final weight, 30 to 45 minutes, £4.80 to £7.20 per stone.
  • Up to 10 grams final weight, 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, £7.20 - £12.00 per stone.
  • Up to 15 grams final weight, 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, £9.60 - £14.40 per stone.
Naturally, the shape and complexity of work needed will be reflected in the final cost. Also, the cost of the raw stone will have to be added. The above figures are estimates and may vary up as well as down.

STONE TUMBLING
I am also happy to tumble polish stone for customers, either stone supplied by me or customer supplied stone.

  • Coarse tumbling * £2.00 per week. (Note: could be 10 or more weeks in total.)
  • Fine tumbling * £2.25 per week. (Note: typically 2 weeks duration.)
  • Polish tumbling * £1.50 per week. (Note: typically 2 weeks duration.)
* The above rates apply to stone(s) assuming an initial weight of 3 pounds (1.3kg). For example, 100g of supplied stone taking 14 weeks to final polishing would cost £2.00

PACKAGING

  • 50p per package up to 500g.
  • Additionally 25p per 500g thereafter.
Weight of packaging typically starts at 25g.

POSTAGE
Example postage costs are...

  • Up to 100g total weight: £1.14 first class, £0.95 second class.
  • Up to 250g total weight: £1.45 first class, £1.24 second class.
  • Up to 500g total weight: £1.94 first class, £1.63 second class.
  • Up to 750g total weight: £2.51 first class, £2.08 second class.
  • Up to 1 kg total weight: £3.08 first class, £2.49 second class.
These prices are for 'Packets' over 353 x 250 x 25mm, mainland UK delivery. Other postal rates requested or deemed necessary will be calculated and quoted prior to despatch.

The above are examples only. The cost of p&p depends on the final weight of the package, type of postage, and how quickly you want delivery.
